Berchtold & Meister to head Credit Suisse Private Banking
Walter Berchtold is appointed Chairman of Credit Suisse Private Banking and Hans-Ulrich Meister appointed Chief Executive Officer of Private Banking effective August 1st. Berchtold's new role is in addition to his current role as Chief Executive Officer Credit Suisse Switzerland. In his new position "Walter Berchtold will focus on further growing our strategically important business with UHNWI clients globally, and will work closely with divisional and regional CEOs helping build our integrated model and expanding our global footprint".
Since 2008 Credit Suisse Private Banking has gained Net New Assets of CHF 150bn (€129bn £114bn $187bn ¥14.6tr Y1,205bn), an increase which is said to be three times that of the closest competitor.
