ATEbank Romania auction
Agricultural Bank of Greece, known as ATEbank has formally put its Romanian subsidiary, ATEbank Romania, up for sale. It has an ambitious timetable of having all bids submitted by January 16th and a deal completed by the end of June.
The significance of the timetable is that the bank needs to raise additional capital by June 30th in order to meet the 9% CT1 capital requirement set for European Too Big To fail banks.
